Bound in drab-green cloth, cover printed in dark green. Portfolio with ribbon ties; ties broken, laid-in. Internal folding card-stock which houses the plates with some wear; card toned, creased, bottom fold splitting at corner. 106 colour plates of birds in very good plus condition, with little notable wear; only the lightest edgewear, as is expected with unbound portfolio sheets. Occasional plate with small number written in pencil in the margin. Else bright and clean; not toned, foxed, or otherwise blemished. "This series of 106 plates are reprints from the plates used in the work entitled "Birds of New York", issued as volumes 1 and 2 of New York State Museum Memoir 12".
